Be organised for school in four easy steps.
Step 1: Unpack
- Kids hang their school jackets and hats on hangers and hooks to keep them wrinkle free ready for the next day.
- Dirty laundry such as uniforms and sports clothes is to be placed in the laundry cart.
- Shoes go into the shoe drawer ? which means they are out of the way but easily found.
- School bags, umbrellas and sporting equipment are hung using the hooks or put in the sports drawer ready for action.
Step 2: Sort
- Any homework goes into the divided shelf. For younger kids this space is great for storing artwork and projects.
- School notes, tips and reminders go onto the notice board for all of the family to see.
- Lunchboxes and drink bottles come out of the bag ready to be taken into the kitchen.
- In the Bigso Boxes go any artwork, certificates, media and craft supplies. They are protected and stored in their own special spot.
Step 3: Homework
- The built-in desktop is an ideal space for completing homework and can be adjusted to correct height.
- Stationary supplies are all at hand, stored in drawers or Bigso Boxes.
- Timetables, achievement certificates and more can be displayed on the magnetic pin board.
- The desktop is also used for recharging phones, iPods and laptops.
Step 4: Prepare
- Pack finished homework along with any signed notes to go back to school, ready for the next day.
- Allocate a different coloured bag for each activity so kids can just pick up the relevant bag full of everything they need. For example a red bag for football, a blue bag for swimming, a pink bag for dance.
The secret to making this system work is to keep it free from non-school related clutter and just keep it focused on school.
